About me

Hello,

I’m Sergiu-Constantin ISTRATE and I was born in Bucharest, ROMANIA, on May 23rd, 1980.
I have a Master’s degree in Economics received at The Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science.

I gained some experience in International Trade, working 5 years for a governmental trade promotion agency called Romanian Center for Trade and Investment.

Due to my job, I had the opportunity to see a lot of places and meet a lot of people. I attended seminars, conferences and trade missions abroad in countries like South Korea, Iran, Kuwait, China, UAE and of course in European countries.

I was also invited to speak at several seminars in Romania.

In September 2009 feeling in need for a career brake, and needing time to take care of a few personal projects, I resigned my position (Head of IT Department) in the agency.

I got involved in “Asociatia Universitatea Copiilor” (Children’s University Association) – a large scale project within the EUCU.NET (European Children’s Universities Network), who’s aim is to promote knowledge, self-discovery, to acquire practical skills, early discovery and innovation, to improve communication and interpersonal relationships between adults and children.

Since August 2010,  I’ve been employed by The National Bank of Romania as Technical Specialist in the Issue, Treasury and Cash Management Department.
